
In the first quarter of 2016 CAO (collective labor agreement) wages rose by 1.8 percent. That is a significant rise compared to 2015, when wages increased by 1.4 percent. It is the strongest growth since 2012.
The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) announced on Thursday that employees in the public sector have received higher salaries in the first months of this year.
Wages in the public sector rose by 3.1 percent, against 1.6 percent in the private sector and 1.3 percent in the subsidized sector (health, social security).
According to the CBS, the average wage increase since the second half of 2014 is higher than inflation. The CBS also announced that inflation in March was at 0.6 percent.
