In the Netherlands, 6% of people are unemployed, but the municipality of Rotterdam is quite higher than that. Rotterdam had the highest unemployment rate last year, at 11.3%. Thee figures are based on the CBS reports regarding the latest regional unemployment figures. In the Rijnmond region, where Rotterdam is, unemployment is the highest of 35 regions, with 8.2%.

Regions with highest unemployment:

Rijnmond: 8.2%
The Hague: 7.7%
Flevoland: 7.3%
Groningen: 7.1%

The labour market regions are smaller than the provinces, and are not always at the borders of provinces. In ten regions, unemployment is higher than the national average, and in 25 regions it is lower.

Low Unemployment in Zeeland

The regions with the lowest unemployment are Gorinchem and Zeeland. The municipality with the lowest unemployment is Veere in Zeeland.

Zeeland was also the province with the lowest unemployment rate last year at 4.4%. In the provinces of Groningen (7.4%), Flevoland (7.2%) and South Holland (6.9%) were with the highest unemployment rates.

Linda is a big mind. She thinks about things that the rest normally overlook. The insight she has about the dutch job market can only be achieved through years of experience and persistence.

Her business savvy is complemented by her mastery of understanding the client's needs and requirements. For my career I could say, she was the “Mary Poppins”, who guided me through thick and thin and helped me to land a career in the Netherlands
