
This is evidenced by the Manpower Group report The Rise of the Well-Informed Candidate. Globally, 58% of surveyed employees find the employer brand more important now than they did five years ago. Especially candidates from the ages18 to 35 adhere to this value.
Employee Brand Actively Investigated
The Dutch are by far not the most active candidates when it comes to viewing the employer’s mark. Only 20% of candidates are familiar with the employer's mark before applying for a job, and this is 28% worldwide. In China, 44% from the potential candidates are checking the brand of a potential employer. In Norway this is 40% and in India 37%.
Information About Activities
According to Dutch respondents, information about the work activities is the most important factor in applying for a job. At second place is openness about the reward, and further on are flexible working hours (also important for the candidates). Only in Spain and Norway, flexible working hours are mentioned more often than in the Netherlands as a determining factor.
Good Website Is Crucial
Information begins with a good website. Here, candidates search for relevant information about the employer’s brand, vision and mission of the company, and remuneration policy. Candidates call the company website as an important source of information.
Business Website Must Be Reliable
The respondents in the Manpower research trust that companies tell the truth on their websites. The company website is called the second most trusted source of information. At number one are the current employees of the company. This underlines the importance of the employee as ambassador of the employer.
