
The European statistics agency Eurostat (Europese statistiekbureau Eurostat) stated that the 10 million part-timers would like more work – they represented 4.5% of the total workers in the EU, of which, two-thirds consisted of women.
The demand for additional work for part-timers in the Netherlands is the least in comparison to all the EU countries. Only 4% of part-time workers wished for more hours. The Netherlands is by far the leading part-time worker supplier in the region.
According to NU.nl, the highest demand for more hours in the EU was in Greece (72.1%), Cyprus (65.9%) and Spain (57.3%).
