It was announced that a total of over 1.35 million people are working as freelancers in The Netherlands. This is a significant increase when compared to 2014, where 324 thousand worked as freelancers out of more than 6.1 million employees. Under this arrangement, they earned an average of nearly 4,500 euros.
For over 553 thousand people in The Netherland, the income they gain from freelancing is taking more of a sideline when looking at the total distribution of their income. Most self-employed personnel find the bulk of their income consists of wages, pension or allowance.

Slightly more than 137 thousand of the nearly three million retirees in The Netherlands punctuated their retirement by an average of nearly six thousand euro in self-employed income, while 53 thousand benefit recipients averaged almost two thousand euros pottering together as independent.

More than 508 thousand self-employed took their income from entrepreneurship in 2014. With this, they earned on average 36 thousand euros gross.

Wages

For about 288 thousand self-employed personnel, the income gained through entrepreneurial activity is their main source of income. However, they also receive income from salary, pensions, and other allowances or benefits that come from employment.

Self-employed persons with a pension growing on the side received an average of over 10 thousand euros, in addition to their income from entrepreneurship of nearly 32 thousand euros. Additional income from wages averaged 7,500 euros, and additional income from benefits some 2,300 euros, which brings the total average income to 53.8 thousand euros.

Linda is a big mind. She thinks about things that the rest normally overlook. The insight she has about the dutch job market can only be achieved through years of experience and persistence.

Her business savvy is complemented by her mastery of understanding the client's needs and requirements. For my career I could say, she was the “Mary Poppins”, who guided me through thick and thin and helped me to land a career in the Netherlands
