The recently published Global Talent Mobility Survey shows that the Netherlands is on the 11th place. Well over 162,000 people from 66 countries were interviewed by The Intelligence Group. In total, 19 percent of employees (382 million workers) with international ambitions prefer the Netherlands over other countries. Interviewees are able to state several preferred countries. According to researchers this increase is especially due to a number of well known Dutch multinationals and the pull of cities like Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The Netherlands is particularly interesting for workers from upcoming countries such as the Philippines, Indonesia, Russia, China and India.
Well over half of the global labour force interested in an international career prefers America. Followed closely by Great Britain and Canada. There has been no change to the top six countries since 2009. Singapore draws attention because it has risen from the eleventh to the seventh spot. Apart from the Netherlands, other countries such as Sweden, Malaysia, South Africa and China, have also climbed the ladder. The least popular countries for foreign workers are, Sierra Leone, Bosnia and El Salvador. Countries that have dropped on the list are Belgium (from 18 to 23) and Saudi Arabia (from 22 to 28).
