The Federation of Businesswomen, Federatie Zakenvrouwen, demands that the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers, VNO-NCW, put more effort into helping women into top positions.
A letter urging Hans de Boer, the chairman of VNO-NCW, to take action was sent with signatures from 40 women from varying sectors such as business, culture and politics, stated Het Financieele Dagblad.
Critics think that this is just one of the many demands that are yet to come from The Federation of Businesswomen. The Federation said that they still see room for progress regarding the employment of women in The Netherlands.
According to The Federation, though the number of young working women in the Netherlands is the highest in Europe, only a striking 10% of women are on boards of directors.
