Brabant top performer in the Netherlands: IBM GLobal Location Trends report 2012
Last Thursday IBM published the provisional results for the Netherlands in IBM's Global Locations Trends Report 2012. Annually IBM Global Services publishes their analyses of foreign investments trends in the world. The provision result for the Netherlands indicate a new record in number of projects, 342 compared to 280 in 2010. The announced investments would create 6.400 new jobs, an increase of 22% compared to 2010 with 5.200 jobs.
The provinces of North- and South-Holland attract the majority of all investments (all together 209 project), but the strongest growth took place in other parts of the country. Especially job creation with the province of Brabant as a top performer. It managed to create 2.000 new jobs from 67 foreign investments project. Amsterdam remains leading with 129 projects, but 'only' 1.600 jobs.
The Netherlands received investments from all over the world, but the USA remains the most important country with 104 project and 2.600 jobs. UK follows in second place with 37 project. China confirms it's status as emerging country in foreign investments by taking a third place with 28 projects. 8 out of these 28 projects landed in the province of Brabant making it the top destination for Chinese investors in the Netherlands in 2011.
