There were 123 thousand vacancies open at the end of december 2011. This is 10 thousand less than the end of september. The number of job vacancies decreased for the second quarter in a row. The figures are adjusted for seasonal effects.

9 thousand less open vacancies in the  private sector than a quarter earlier. With 6 thousand the greatest decline was in commercial service. This remains the sector with the most vacancies (73 thousand). In industry and construction there were 12 thousand and 5 thousand respectively. The number of jobs at the Government came out on 7 thousand. This is slightly less than in the third quarter.

An indicator for the strain on the labour market, the number of jobs per thousand jobs, the so-called vacancy rate. This came out in the fourth quarter against at 15, 16 in the third quarter.

The dynamism of the labour market has declined. There were 167 thousand jobs in the fourth quarter. This is14 thousand less than a year earlier. In addition, there were 181 thousand vacancies filled or deleted. This is roughly the same as in the fourth quarter of 2010.

For an expat moving to the Netherlands, getting the right direction is very important. It's important that one knows which steps and direction to take. Linda is an exceptionally talent counselor, her advice has helped me land a job within a week of coming to the Netherlands. I am grateful for her mentoring and look forward to a great working relationship in the future.

Together Abroad provided expert advice on personal branding including developing a top-notch, market-aware CV, highly tailored job applications, and approach strategies with potential employers in the Netherlands. Furthermore, I found them be highly knowledgeable in key related fields such as recruitment strategy, immigration law, contracts, labor agreements, and (un)employment benefits. I would recommend Together Abroad to anyone who needs professional help with transitioning to a new career.

Linda is a big mind. She thinks about things that the rest normally overlook. The insight she has about the dutch job market can only be achieved through years of experience and persistence.

Her business savvy is complemented by her mastery of understanding the client's needs and requirements. For my career I could say, she was the “Mary Poppins”, who guided me through thick and thin and helped me to land a career in the Netherlands
