Staff shortage threatens business

Although currently 6.3 percent of the workforce is unemployed, the research firm expects a lack of personnel in technical, medical care and transportation occupations. It involves a total of nearly 450 thousand jobs, of which about 250 thousand in SMEs.

Employment in the industry will have a limited increase. Especially the aging population creates demand for labor. In the period 2010 to 2020, about 1 million workers retire. The proportion of older people is above average in agriculture, healthcare, industrial and transport sectors.
