The report released by Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek (CBS) highlighted that these 75,000 young people virtually have no chance to participate in the labour market. This particularly applies to young women. According to the study, 37% of this group claim disability and disease as their main reasons for their unemployment status.
Women give family or household as major reasons for being unemployed. However, there is a decline in this trend, as CBS shows that 44% of women gave these reasons in 2005, and only 24% in 2014.
The study also noted that factors of illness and disability are increasingly being cited as reasons for unemployment.
