Before advocating employers' organizations VNO-NCW, MKB-Netherlands and AWVN in their terms of employment 2015.
They want more flexibility in the collective agreements that according to the organizations must consist of more space for individual agreements, a reward structure that moves with the economic conditions and the reduction of irregular payments. Flexible forces must also, at the same time, get more security.
Employers make these agreements preferably in consultation with the unions, but in the eyes of employers it is "generally inconvenient" and "often even impossible" to make modifications to existing employment packages with the unions.
Should this indeed be the reaction of the trade unions, according to the employers, there is a high likelihood that they will still make changes, outside of the collective agreements. "That would be a missed opportunity," say the employers in their terms of employment notes.
Trade Unions (FNV)
The FNV union reacted negatively to the notes of the employers. Terms of Employment Coordinator Mariette Patijnlaan said, "They talk about 'change, flexibility, renewal’, but in practice means to ‘deteriorate, deteriorate, deteriorate.’ To be clear: the union will not agree to that. We go for purchasing power and real jobs. That is good for the quality of work and for the economy. "
Age
Employers have also stated in the same note that older employees need to take a step back in favor of younger workers if the Netherlands wants to remain competitive.
"Additional free days and exemption from irregular services do not suit people who continue to work until they reach to rising state pension age," said the employers. They do not look at age, but at the performance.
