Finding a job can be a lengthy endeavour. It takes time to adapt your CV, write a cover letter and fill out applications. Sooner or later, you might be ready to take a job you don’t really want just to pay the bills. While this is a normal experience for any job seeker, there are certain tools and steps that help you speed up the job search, and ultimately, get hired faster. In this sense, we have 10 tips you might want to consider

1. Make use of social media
Recently, more companies are using social media to find candidates.
When you fill out applications, make sure to update your LinkedIn page. List professional credentials or accreditations and make sure to “clean” your Facebook and Twitter accounts of any content that might cast a poor light on you.

2. Select job boards
Speed up the process by using job boards for your job search online. It is important to type in the best criteria (search words) to make your searches the most accurate as possible. In addition, keep track of the career pages of your target companies.

3. Create Your Own Templates
Have copies of your CV and cover letter ready to edit. This way you can tailor the content to the requirements of the job you're interested in.
4. Apply as soon as possible
Don’t wait to apply for your target job. Try to apply as soon as you find the job posting. There are other people out there who might be interested in this position, which means you will have to work fast in order to be the employer’s early favourite.

5. Apply to many jobs
It can be daunting to apply to 10 jobs in one single day, but this increases your chances to be invited to an interview.

6. Respond to emails and phone calls immediately
Communicating with potential employers in a timely manner is a key component in showing your determination.

7. Always make connections
Companies repeatedly report that most of their new hires come from referrals. Thus, make sure to network everyday. Keep in touch with old contacts and strive to establish new ones. Use LinkedIn to connect with those contacts and keep all conversations positive and upbeat.

8. Consult a recruiter
From polishing up your Resumé to connecting you to employers, recruiters may have the right tools and tricks you can use.

9. Follow up
Showing motivation and interest after an interview makes you a keen and memorable candidate.

10. Use your devices
Since we aren’t confined to desktop websites anymore, your smartphones and tablets can save you a good deal of time. Today, you can search for jobs while riding the subway, sitting in an airport or in a coffee shop. Take a few minutes to search for jobs with mobile apps, which give you more opportunities to quickly find a job without effort.
