Many financial and administrative employees in trade, industry and the financial sector have lost their jobs through digitization, based on an analysis presented by the Social Security Agency(The UWV) last Thursday.
It is expected that the shrinkage of these occupational groups will continue in the coming years, because many companies continue to digitize their financial records. The UWV is providing about 16,000 current unemployment benefits to job seekers with a financial and administrative background. In 2010, this was about 8,600.
According to the agency, job opportunities for these unemployed workers are mainly outside the administrative field; for example, they could work as an assistant in customer service or call center, or in IT services.
