The position of women has improved
Even thought women still form the minority, their share in the management layers of enterprises and organizations in the past year increased slightly (from 24% to 26%). In total, eight out of hundred working men are manager. For women this number is three out of hundred. In the second quarter of 2014 400 thousand men worked as manager, one year later there were still 361 thousand male managers. On the contrary, regarding female managers, there was hardly any decrease, as the number of female managers decreased from 130 thousand to 128 thousand.
Male-female gap is narrowing at full-time possitions
As the number of female managers hardly waned, there are now 2.8 male managers for every female manager. A year ago that proportion was still 3.1 to 1. In terms of working time this male-female differences are much smaller. The number of all the men managers working full time in the second quarter of 2014 was 11%, a year later it dropped to 10%. Regarding women who work full time, the proportion of managers just slightly increased. In the second quarter of 2015 there were 8.5 women in full time management positions.
Both men and women more likely are employed in full-time, than part-time management. There are 2.6% of males managers and 1.6% of women managers. Three quarters of women work part-time, for men it is a quarter.
Management layer becomes thinner
In one year, the total number of managers dropped from 531 thousand to 490 thousand. Nearly one in seventeen workers is now a manager, while it used to be one in fifteen a year ago. The decline is particularly large among managers in specialized services ( - 9 thousand), as well as in the insurance and financial services, and production managers ( - 8 thousand).
