CBS reported, that the number of jobs in the tourism sector has increased by 15 thousand in 2014, reaching 606 thousand in total. The number of full-time jobs increased approximately by eight thousand, while the increase in the volume of jobs was more than 2%. The percentage of jobs in the Dutch economy in total slightly fell, thus the share of the tourism sector increased.

Last year the employment in the tourism sector was equal to 366 thousand full-time jobs, which was equal to 46% of the hospitality sector (including hotels, restaurants, campsites, holiday parks). The number of tourist hospitality jobs increased by 3% compared to 2013.

While employment in the hospitality industry had positive tendency, the number full-time jobs in the aviation and travel agencies was just 3% in 2014. In particular, traditional travel agencies have suffered from the increasing number of online bookings.

About three quarters of work in the tourism sector consists of the typical tourism jobs (jobs in the hospitality, aviation, agencies, art and culture). About a quarter of the work in the tourism sector consists of other jobs such as in retail, public transport and in the taxi industry.

Linda is a big mind. She thinks about things that the rest normally overlook. The insight she has about the dutch job market can only be achieved through years of experience and persistence.

Her business savvy is complemented by her mastery of understanding the client's needs and requirements. For my career I could say, she was the “Mary Poppins”, who guided me through thick and thin and helped me to land a career in the Netherlands
