67 million euros for  jobs plan in the food industry. This is what Minister Lodewijk Asscher of Social Affairs and Employment and politician Mirjam Sterk announced Monday.
This money is reserved for training , sustainable employability and creating two thousand additional traineeships for young professionals. 20 million is given by the government, the rest of the money comes from employers and unions in the food industry.

Many employees in the sector will shortly retire. Leo Bons CNV Professionals said he expects over thousands of new jobs to cone free over the next four years. "The developments in the industry is very fast, it is important that we have enough skilled workers and that people keep their knowledge up to date," said Bonds.

The government has allocated a total of 600 million for employment schemes in the various industries. The sectors need to invest in the job plan an at least an equal amount as the cabinet. The agreements about the job plans were previously made with unions and employers in the social agreement.
So far, 102 plans how to get people back to work or to keep their current jobs were submitted, 61 of which were approved.

According to Asscher the approved plans will to help more than 300,000 people to maintain their position in the labour market or to improve it. The plans that are now being carried out will 35,000 people will participate in the current plans that are already now being carried out. 6,500 young people will get a learn/work placement, which probably would not have been possible under other circumstances, writes Asscher.
