
The company PM-Aerotec, based in Hengelo, is the winner of the World Trade CenterTwente Export Award 2012. The prize was presented last night during Business Meets Twente by JeroenRoodenburg, the ambassador for Trade and Industry & International Business of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The jury praised the company for its export strategy and its co-engineering projects abroad.
PM-Aerotech(formerly Tecnovia van den Akker)isbased in Hengelo, it recently re-launched itself successfully as part of PM Bearings and produces metal precision components and is specialised in manufacturing high-quality technical modules, assembly products and end products in small editions for, among others, the military industry and aircraft manufacturing industry. The company makes use of the already existing parent company’s international network in order to, for instance, gain access to the United States military industry and that of upcoming Asian countries. New clients are acquired by combining their own sales department with a sophisticated dealer network. Proud winner, managing director Herman Lüth received the prize. “Tomorrow we will be at a major exhibition, the award will get pride of place. For PM-Aerotec, winning the Export Award is also a great way of acquiring more familiarity in the region and will come in handy in connection to the expected growth and the recruitment of employees.
Finalists
The other two nominees were HK Plastics and WINNN. The Almelo based HK Plastics has a strong position in the market for industrial synthetic packaging and packaging containers for the foodstuff and non-food industry. The World Wide Innovation Group (WWINN), also based in Almelo, is specialised in the development and implementation of innovative, made to measure solutions for the production of high-quality components, mainly for the electronics, medical, automotive and high-tech industries. WWINN is particularly specialised in micro assembly.
While assessing the nominees, the jury paid close attention to; export strategies, innovation, entrepreneurship, ambition, vision and results. The WTC Twente Export Award is presented annually and it is a WTC Twente Business Club initiative.
Expert jury
The WTC Twente Export Award expert jurors are; chairman Richard Wermelink, founder of InnoBrands Innovation & Marketing; Rob Gregorowitsch, managing director of the Chamber of Commerce (for the east of the Netherlands) and HuubRatering (HoSt, winner of the WTC Twente Export Award 2011).
