Global travel leader to add more than 120 jobs at new office located in Amsterdam’s city center

Amsterdam – 22 January 2014 – The Expedia group (NASDAQ: EXPE), the world’s leading online travel company, today announced it is bringing approximately 120 new jobs to Amsterdam through the expansion of its existing operations in the area. The group has leased a new office in Amsterdam’s Gouden Bocht neighborhood, which it plans to occupy beginning the first quarter of 2014. The Expedia group’s local market management team initially established operations in the city in 2004, and will also relocate to the new Gouden Bocht office.

“The impressive caliber of talent found in the area’s workforce made Amsterdam a prime location when deciding where to expand our organization’s footprint,” said Frank Zijlstra, vice president of global financial operations, the Expedia group. “We hope to grow our operations here over the months and years to come, so we are very much looking forward to strengthening our ties with the cityof Amsterdam.”

The Expedia group worked closely with the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) and its regional partner, amsterdam inbusiness (aib), to expand its operations.

“The NFIA and aib are very pleased for the opportunity to collaborate with the Expedia group in bringing additional jobs to Amsterdam,” said Henny Jacobs, director investment projects, NFIA. “We believe the Netherlands’ consistent laborforce, available language and job skill sets make it an ideal location for multinational companies like the Expedia group, who are looking to expand their global presence.”

Expedia’s new location will primarily serve as a Global Finance Operations center to support its network of global online travel brands, including Expedia® and Hotels.com®, as well as its supply management organization. The company is now hiring for Collections positions, including the role of Credit Controller, and plans to open additional positions over the next 12 months.

For an expat moving to the Netherlands, getting the right direction is very important. It's important that one knows which steps and direction to take. Linda is an exceptionally talent counselor, her advice has helped me land a job within a week of coming to the Netherlands. I am grateful for her mentoring and look forward to a great working relationship in the future.

Dr. Hrishiraj S | Clinical Research & Affairs Manager

Together Abroad provided expert advice on personal branding including developing a top-notch, market-aware CV, highly tailored job applications, and approach strategies with potential employers in the Netherlands. Furthermore, I found them be highly knowledgeable in key related fields such as recruitment strategy, immigration law, contracts, labor agreements, and (un)employment benefits. I would recommend Together Abroad to anyone who needs professional help with transitioning to a new career.

Linda is a big mind. She thinks about things that the rest normally overlook. The insight she has about the dutch job market can only be achieved through years of experience and persistence.

Her business savvy is complemented by her mastery of understanding the client's needs and requirements. For my career I could say, she was the “Mary Poppins”, who guided me through thick and thin and helped me to land a career in the Netherlands

If you are going to enlist the services of a "Career Coach" look no further. The only person you want in your corner is Linda van Orsouw. As an expat, you absolutely want to work with a highly skilled and knowledgeable professional who knows their way around the Dutch career/employment/job market. Linda assisted me in writing and positioning my CV, helped me organize and prioritize my list of opportunities, coached me through mock interviews and was there when I got offered a senior position only 2 months later. When asked I will only refer to Linda and "Togetherabroad".
