There are many ways in which a migrant jobseeker can employ the services of Together Abroad. For those who may not be aware, Together Abroad is not only a job board, but also offers some really great services that can assist you in both finding and obtaining that perfect position. These include career coaching, CV services and interview training.

In regard to Together Abroad’s career coaching, you can do this either online or face-to-face. These sessions help you to understand the labour market in the Netherlands, develop your CV and personal profile, and identify the positions that best match your education and work background.

If you already have a good understanding of the Dutch labour market and the positions most suited to your qualifications, Together Abroad also offers separate CV services. These include CV templates that can be downloaded, as well as a CV check and/or rewrite to ensure that your CV meets Dutch standards and includes all relevant information.

So what should your next steps be as a migrant jobseeker if your CV is in good shape and you have already found the perfect job posting on Together Abroad? While it is usually best to contact the organisation in question, it is also very important to consider the questions you are likely to be asked. These may include the reasons why you are interested in the job, your relevant experience, your financial status, and the services you will require when relocating to Holland.

To assist with this, Together Abroad offers interview training, in which you are guided and given practice providing the perfect answers to the tough questions. This takes place online so you can do this from the comfort of your own home.

There are also many free articles on the Together Abroad site about various aspects of the migrant jobseeker experience. These can be found by scrolling over the ‘Magazine’ heading on the front page, and then clicking on the title most relevant to the topic you are interested in. Some of these topics include ‘Work in Holland’, ‘Interview Questions’, ‘Salary’ and ‘Search Tips’. They also have a Daily News section you can browse, where you are kept up to date with the latest employment news.

However, if you cannot find the information or assistance you are after on the website, you can always contact them at info@togetherabroad.nl.
And when they are unable to directly provide the service you require, they may still be able to assist you by outsourcing your request to a suitable organisation.

For an expat moving to the Netherlands, getting the right direction is very important. It's important that one knows which steps and direction to take. Linda is an exceptionally talent counselor, her advice has helped me land a job within a week of coming to the Netherlands. I am grateful for her mentoring and look forward to a great working relationship in the future.

Dr. Hrishiraj S | Clinical Research & Affairs Manager

Together Abroad provided expert advice on personal branding including developing a top-notch, market-aware CV, highly tailored job applications, and approach strategies with potential employers in the Netherlands. Furthermore, I found them be highly knowledgeable in key related fields such as recruitment strategy, immigration law, contracts, labor agreements, and (un)employment benefits. I would recommend Together Abroad to anyone who needs professional help with transitioning to a new career.

Linda is a big mind. She thinks about things that the rest normally overlook. The insight she has about the dutch job market can only be achieved through years of experience and persistence.

Her business savvy is complemented by her mastery of understanding the client's needs and requirements. For my career I could say, she was the “Mary Poppins”, who guided me through thick and thin and helped me to land a career in the Netherlands

As an expat, you absolutely want to work with a highly skilled and knowledgeable professional who knows their way around the Dutch career/employment/job market. Linda assisted me in writing and positioning my CV, helped me organize and prioritize my list of opportunities, coached me through mock interviews and was there when I got offered a senior position only 2 months later.
