
The marine-technology industry in the Netherlands had a good year in 2015, despite the difficult conditions in the industry.
The sales turnover went up by 9.4 percent from €7,5 billion in 2014, to €8,2 billion in 2015, reported the Industry Association Netherlands Maritime Technology.
Employment remained stable, with 31,000 full-time employees. Earlier in the last year, 63 seafaring vessels were delivered and the order intake reached 64 vessels. Furthermore, 111 other vessels were delivered, including for inland shipping and fishery, with an additional 23 super yachts.
Also, other companies in the Marine sector, approximately 670 Dutch maritime suppliers, had increased their turnover last year, as well as the sea ship repairers.
