Where you would expect that the government would set an example for business, that is not quite the case. The expectation is now that the intermediate targets of 3 thousand additional jobs by 2016 will not be met. The reason? Some government agencies have the issue low on their priority list.
Cuts and reorganisations
A study was conducted by Hans Spigt, appointed by Secretary Klijnsma jobs as Ambassador to the government. He warned in August that the government was already lagging behind its commitment with respect to the business community. Employers in the public sector are too busy handling previous cuts and reorganisations to make room for people with disabilities.
While the municipalities and provinces are well on track, For other sectors, the ambition is present, but there will be little action instead.
Final number of additional jobs
The Ministry of Social Affairs will not draw any conclusions yet, but await the final number of jobs. The commented stating that by June, it will be known how many additional jobs will become available in 2016.
