“In the last quarter of 2015, we even hit a record of 40.9 days, down nearly 7 percent compared to the fourth quarter of 2014,” said Graydon research agency. “Invoices have never before been so quickly fulfilled.”
This improvement is evident in all sectors, but the business services sector runs with an average of 36.8 days in the last quarter of 2015.
“Thanks to better payment behaviour, entrepreneurs have more space to invest and to differentiate themselves in the market,” said Graydon.
Government
Invoices from the government have the longest time to wait, at 44.7 days. However, this is on average four days earlier than paid in 2014. At 36.2 days, the public services sector (government, ministries, social work) has a payment behaviour better than the national average. The industrial government sector, including electricity and water companies, make an average of more than 56 days in 2015.
The provincial level proved to be the best and quickest payers, where in last quarter the province of Zeeland had an average of 37 days. The slowest of the provincial payers were found in Drenthe, at 43.1 days.
