For people with a talent for programming, NASA is offering one million dollars. The money is intended for the winner of the Space Robotic Challenge, a competition thatthe US space agency has launched in its efforts to land people on Mars.
NASA provides $ 1 million for the best programmers who can program their new space robot. The competition serves as a preparation for a future space trip to the ‘red planet’, where a space robot, as a quartermaster, shall prepare for a later visit by human astronauts.

Shape of a Human

The space agency is working on the space robot since 1997. Currently this ‘Robonaut’ assists astronauts, but the device should also perform tasks autonomously in the future. Participants of the Space Robotic Challenge have the challenge to virtually develop the fifth update of the robot, which can independently perform a series of tasks.
The robot has the shape of a human being, and in the story of NASA it should save a camp on Mars for people who should go there. During a dust storm, a tent and solar panels were damaged, and an antenna blew up. The task is to program a robot that can fix everything. The best performance will win the prize.
However there is one important condition. The majority (i.e. at least 51%) of the team must be American.

MannedMissions

Eventually, in 2025 NASA wants to send people to an asteroid on Mars. Truly, in 2030 the first human steps should be put on the planet. Even commercial parties aim for Mars missions. Thus, the company SpaceX entrepreneur Elon Musk intends to build an entire city. The plan of this will be presented in September.
