ADJUSTING WORKING HOURS FOLLOWING PARENTAL LEAVE

AMSTERDAM - Employees may request a temporary adjustment to working hours following their parental leave in order to care for their child.
In addition, employers should not infringe employees who apply for parental leave. In order for the Netherlands to follow European guidelines, the government will adjust the working hours Act. Employees wishing to adjust their working hours will have to put in their request with their employer three months prior to their parental leave ending . The employer will have to decide on the matter no more than four weeks before the term ends.
