Energy Level decreases in Employees

Workers now have less energy than two years ago. This has been caused by increased pressure, feeling the need to work harder, and the performance bar being raised.

There's a growing group of employees that are increasingly under pressure. These people, some 40 percent of the workers, are mainly engaged in meeting short-term goals and solving immediate problems. Self-interest goes beyond cooperation and tensions and frustrations regularly flare up. The number of employees that feel 'laid back' in their work, has now declined, probably due tov the increasing pressure from an improving economy and the threat of mass layoffs.

Productivity Loss

Energy has a direct and an indirect effect on behavior and performance. The energy level has a predictive value. For example, people who experienced a lot of stress over the last year tend to see their performance be on average lower than those of their energetic counterparts.

Stop the frenzy

There are exceptions: the directors and management and fifty+ employees often still have high energy levels while working. To ensure that you regain the energy of your workers, you can do different things. Firstly, it is important to close the energy leaks in your organisation as quickly as possible. Stop the frenzied nature of your workplace, and reaffirm what the intention of your work is.
