Municipality of the Hague launches app for job seekers

Residents of The Hague who are looking for work can now search for a job using the 070werkt app on their mobile phone. The app, what was launched on 3 September by Deputy Mayor Rabin Baldewsingh, collects available job vacancies and information on the rights and duties of people entitled to welfare benefits.

In addition to informing job-seekers with welfare benefits about new job announcements, the app lets them know about training courses and government-subsidised training posts. Besides, users can see when their benefits will be transferred to their bank account or when a job market is being organised in the neighbourhood. Then they can also place all the relevant data in their own agenda.

The 070werkt app was created in cooperation with Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Utrecht. Rotterdam's app, developed in June 2014, has been downloaded thousands of times. The most popular job vacancies are viewed between 100 and 500 times.

The app can now be downloaded for free for Apple and Android users.
