APM Terminals selects new location for The Hague Headquarters at ´De Kroon´

APM Terminals has signed a lease agreement for a new world headquarters at the De Kroon office building in The Hague. The company will lease 3,500 m² office space for an initial duration of ten years, with occupancy set for Q4 2012.

APM Terminals chose the site based on its city center location, providing employees, clients and business partners easy access to The Hague’s business district, hotel accommodations, restaurants and cultural activities. Equally important, was the ideal proximity to Central Station and frequent, direct, express train service to Amsterdam Schiphol airport.

APM Terminals CFO Christian Moller Laursen commented “As a fast-growing, global port operator we wanted to select the best office space, location and work environment for our employees to define our global brand and business ambitions.”

APM Terminals, which became a separate business unit of the Copenhagen-based A.P. Moller-Maersk Group in 2001, is one of the largest port and terminal operating companies in the world with interests in 62 port facilities and a presence in 38 countries on five continents, along with over 150 Inland Services operations in 46 countries.

To give further context to APM Terminals business position in The Netherlands, based on its annual revenue of $4.7 billion in 2011, APM Terminals would rank 19th among the AEX Index companies currently listed on Amsterdam’s Euronext stock exchange. In The Netherlands, APM Terminals has over 100 employees working in The Hague headquarters; 700 employees in APM Terminals Rotterdam Maasvlakte I container terminal; and building the world’s newest, safest, most modern container terminal in Maasvlakte II, scheduled to open in 2014. The company’s Europe regional office is also located in Rotterdam.

Since 2004, APM Terminals world headquarters has been located in The Hague at Anna van Sakensenlaan 71.
