Within the coming half-year, companies will be looking for finance staff to fill new and vacant positions en masse. Most employers, however, will find difficulty in their search for suitable candidates. This is according to research commissioned by Robert Half, among 200 Dutch CFOs and finance directors.

Accounting and finance candidates
More than nine in ten (92 percent) CFOs and finance directors indicate that next six months of recruitment will be focused on finding new accounting and finance candidates. This is done to fill vacant positions (48 percent) and new functions (44 percent). These new functions are caused by the creating and launching of new projects, the growth of business, and entering new markets or expanding service offerings.

Good staff
Nine in ten (91 percent) of CFOs and financial directors have difficulty finding the right staff with the right skills. According to CFOs and finance directors, this is due to a particular lack of certain skills, such as technical (31 percent), and commercial and business skills (25 percent). According to more than a quarter of respondents (28 percent), the demand for qualified professionals is greater than the current supply.
