The City of Amsterdam wants to cooperate with LinkedIn, in the hopes of better identifying local talent and improving the labour market.
Amsterdam has prompted LinkedIn to research which talents have a chance to work in Amsterdam. The networking website, where more than some 414 million people have created a profile, has a lot of current data on local labour markets and can properly map the workforce skills.
Based on this information, Amsterdam will develop plans to attract targeted talent. In addition, the city will be able to connect students and graduates to start-ups. With the help of LinkedIn’s data, Amsterdam hopes to better coordinate the demand and supply on the local labour market.
It is the first time that a Dutch government organization uses LinkedIn data for improvement in the labour market. Previously, the company worked in a similar way with several cities in the United States and England.
