LUXEMBURG – People earning the highest incomes pay the most income tax in Sweden, Denmark and Belgium, followed directly by the Netherlands and Spain.
This became clear from numbers published by the European Statistical Office Eurostat on Monday. In Sweden, Denmark and Belgium, workers earning the most pay respectively 56.6, 55.4, and 53.7 percent in taxes. Dutch and Spanish workers pay 52 percent. Workers on high income in the 27 European Union countries pay an average of 38.1 percent income tax. Company Tax is slightly higher in the Netherlands (25 percent) than the European average (23.5 percent). Company Tax in France is the highest at 36.1 percent. Regarding VAT, the Netherlands does a bit better than the European average. In the Netherlands we now still pay the high tax of 19 percent while the average in Europe amounts to 21 percent.

For an expat moving to the Netherlands, getting the right direction is very important. It's important that one knows which steps and direction to take. Linda is an exceptionally talent counselor, her advice has helped me land a job within a week of coming to the Netherlands. I am grateful for her mentoring and look forward to a great working relationship in the future.

Linda is a big mind. She thinks about things that the rest normally overlook. The insight she has about the dutch job market can only be achieved through years of experience and persistence.

Her business savvy is complemented by her mastery of understanding the client's needs and requirements. For my career I could say, she was the “Mary Poppins”, who guided me through thick and thin and helped me to land a career in the Netherlands
