Soil Mechanics Engineer Job description
Responsibilities
- Reviews the Client’s technical documentation and requirements 
 - Is responsible for the development of design of all soil foundation systems within attributed projects 
 - Is responsible for quality, budget and respect of time schedule for all attributed soil foundation projects 
 - Maintains project technical files and update Company standards 
 - Controls attributed sub-contracted discipline engineering documents 
 - Controls all in-house documents issued by geotechnical engineers and draftsmen 
 - Validates and issues project geotechnical specifications, requisitions and schedule of rates 
 - Issues the technical bid tabulation for all geotechnical calls for tender 
 - Issues the REX document after geotechnical contract is completed 
 
Requirements
- Relevant vocational qualifications (MEng / BEng / BSc / MSc or equivalent) 
 - Knowledge on Geo-environmental Engineering and Contaminated Land Legislation 
 - Geotechnical and Geo-environmental site works 
 - Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary design teams and coordinating interfaces with other disciplines 
 - Design and construction of housing and renewable schemes 
 - Competent in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology and Geo-environmental Engineering 
 - Broad skills, knowledge and understanding of other design areas 
 - Understanding of H&S Requirements related to Geotechnical Engineering 
 - Understanding of Environmental Requirements of Geotechnical schemes 
 - Basic knowledge of Quality Management 
 - Understanding of QMS 
 - Good communication skills 
 - Detailed knowledge of design codes
