Responsibilities
- Instruct the Drillers in the execution of the drilling activities and supervise the drilling crew in order to ensure the activities are carried out in accordance to the program;
- Receive handover for the previous shift and verify status of operations and equipment before beginning his/her shift;
- Check and set up the equipment to be used with particular reference to the tools to be run in hole. Check the condition of the equipment after its use and notify any wear, breakage or damage;
- Whenever instructed by his/her superior check that the activities carried out to prepare , use, control the mud system are performed in accordance to the program and instructions received rig;
- Liaise, when requested, with the client’s representatives and provide any information with his/her area of competence; 6) Check periodically the efficiency of the safety equipment and devices present on the rig site;
- Be familiar with handling and operating safely all drilling related tools and equipment;
- Be familiar with running and testing of the BOP and how to operate the same and the diverter system;
- Be familiar with the established well control procedures;
- Be familiar with the established drilling operational procedures;
- Be familiarize with reporting routines;
- Monitor the stock level of spare parts and consumables for the drilling equipment and notify his/her superior in case any deficiency is detected;
- Assist his superior during the rig moving activities by supervising the activity of the drilling crew, coordinating the lifting activities and verifying that the equipment is correctly positioned on the new location and assembled properly;
- Be familiar with all classification society and authorities rules and regulations applicable to his/her area;
- Ensure that all orders and instructions received verbally or in writing are fully understood and adhered to;
- Be safety conscious in all his work and behavior and use compulsory protective equipment;
- Ensure safe working conditions on the rig site at all times;
- Ensure that his subordinates use compulsory protective equipment;
- Be familiar with all relevant work and safety procedures issued by Company and Operator and promote the implementation of same;
- Apply and ensure the correct application of prescribed safety standards and regulations and take part in emergency drills and safety meetings;
- Participate in the preparation of the Safe Job Analysis before start-up of the non-routine operation or job and ensure completion of risk assessment where required;
- Instruct all personnel assigned to him of their duties and responsibilities and of any special precaution to be taken prior to start-up of any work;
- Promptly report any safety hazard, accident, near-miss accident and non-conformance to his/her immediate superior; 24) Be familiar with his/her duties during safety drills and in an emergency situations;
- Ensure that proper housekeeping is maintained on the rig site;
Requirements
- Experience in all phases of onsite drilling operation
- Well Control certificate - Supervisor level, combined Surface and Subsea BOP Stack
- Cyber base experience
