Mechanical Engineer Job description

Responsibilities

  • Reviews Client's technical documentation and requirements: 
  • Maintains project technical files and update Company standards. 
  • Controls subcontracted discipline engineering documents. 
  • Overviews tender or contract documents to identify the disciplinary project requirements, the available data/information and the required scope of work. 
  • Executes studies and engineering relevant to equipment, machinery and packages. 
  • Determines mechanical and machinery engineering requirements. 
  • Defines design criteria for equipment/machinery/packages. 
  • Sets up and progress basic and detail engineering activities. 
  • Prepares detail engineering documentation in compliance with the process requirements and technical specifications (equipment mechanical data sheets, noise controls functional specification etc.). 
  • Reviews Client's project specifications and requirements. 
  • Provides technical assistance to commercial activities. 
  • Prepares the technical documentation for the equipment procurement and assists the procurement department in vendor selection.
  • Maintains technical files and update company standards.
  • Provides technical support to project groups.
  • Optimizes the technical solutions ensuring minimal cost and simplification in compliance with the required performance.
  • Supervises subcontracted mechanical engineering activities.
  • Prepares list of spare parts and consumable.
  • Prepares technical specification for equipment installation.
  • Prepares mechanical books.
  • Ensures Equipment, machinery and package suppliers follow-up.
  • Ensures technical support during plant construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning phases.
  • Assists QC entity during Equipment/ Machinery/Packages inspection and installation.

Requirements

  • Professionally qualified engineer (IMechE or equivalent) with at least 5 years’ experience
  • Thorough knowledge of industry standards within Mechanical and Piping discipline area
  • Experienced in applying Norma and Regulations
  • Familiar with the development of Brownfield Work packs
  • Previous experience in Brown field projects
  • Materials Engineering background with Static or Rotating equipment design experience
